	The primary goal of SatNEx is to achieve long-lasting integration of the European research in satellite communication and to develop a common base of knowledge, thus contributing to the realization of the European Research Area.

	IMOSAN: Integrated Multi-layer Optimization in broadband DVB-S2 SAtellite Networks

	IMOSAN is an EU funded IST project which proposes an integrated management solution that allows optimum usage of the satellite spectrum, which spans across three layers: physical, network and service. This multi-layer optimization is based on the capabilities of DVB-S.2 standard and is performed in an integrated and coherent way for all layers, using a Satellite Resource Management System (SRMS).

	TWISTER: Terrestrial Wireless Infrastructure integrated with Satellite Telecommunication for E-Rural

	TWISTER intends to play an active role in bridging the global digital divide, and to be used as a window through which policy makers might view the job of ensuring broadband access for the coming years, and thus contribute to the true "revolution in democratic communication”.

	SatSix: Satellite based communications systems within IPv6 networks

	The main objectives of SATSIX are to lower the cost of broadband satellite access, through the development of new satellite access techniques and the integration of wireless local loops (WiFi and WiMax) and to develop recommendations, testbeds, trial networks showing how satellite broadband access will integrate Next Generation Networks, based on IPv6, and support new multimedia applications.

	SATLIFE: Satellite Access Technologies: Leading Improvements For Europe

	SATLIFE strategically responds to the imperative need of facilitating the development of a broadband for all access by means of significantly enhancing the state-of-the-art of DVB-RCS satellite standard solutions for regenerative and transparent systems while integrating them with other terrestrial alternatives in the implementation of the Information Society.
